"I’ve made a habit of finding hidden gems when I travel and Ecoterra Inka Lodge was the best of these so far! How they build all of this in the jungle, at the top of this hill is a miracle in and of itself. It demonstrates the owner’s skills as an engineer. I have been to Peru many times. For this adventure, I wanted to find out what is next after Macchu Picchu (the point at which most tourists turn back to Cusco). The lodge was exactly what I was looking for. Surrounded by nature, this is the place to experience the cloud rainforest. I do have one word of advice for future guests. It’s better if the vehicle you are using to get there is 4 or All Wheel Drive. This has nothing to do with the lodge but more so the state of the local roads. The staff are more than willing to pick you up in the town of Quillabamba if you arrange prior. The manager Roman speaks French, Spanish and English and makes you feel like more than just a paying customer. The service from all employees was of the highest levels. As this is an ecolodge and in the jungle you may have moths follow you into your room from time to time. For the squeamish crowd, there are bug screens on the windows and more are constantly being added to fill any gaps. Those who have travelled outside Canada/USA know that this is considered a luxury, even in Europe. As we stayed in March (the end of the rainy season before the start of the tourist high season), we were the only guests! Having the whole place to ourselves was both a surreal and special experience. Because of low guests during this time, they did not have a fully stocked bar but did have Pisco and beer. Ask for the Pisco tea, it is excellent. The logistical challenges of transporting supplies means that the restaurant menu is not huge (1 page). However, what they offer is fresh and tasty. For example, their on site trout farm. While I am young (mid 20s) I was with my aunt and uncle (50-60s). There are activities to suit everyone. For example, long guided hikes, or an artesianal coffee experience. They have only been operating for a little over a year and I could see how they have been constantly trying to refine their operations. The good news for future guests is that my stay was great and the lodge will only continue to get better. They even added satellite wifi!"

"Schöne Unterkunft mitten im Jungle. Am besten über booking.com reservieren! Wir mussten eine Anzahlung leisten und am Ende des Aufenthalts wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass von den angezahlten 120€ nur die Hälfte angekommen ist. Außerdem haben wie für die Touren statt 75soles (wie auf instagram drei Wochen zuvor beworben) 100soles verrechnet. Leider ärgerliches Ende eines eigentlichen sehr schönen Aufenthaltes."
